BAKER FAMILY

The Bakers came from Ramsey County, Minnesota, and prior to that, perhaps New York. Wyman BAKER, my gg grandfather is the earliest BAKER ancestor I can identify. He is buried in Appleton. His son, Frank, my great grandfather, came west to California at some point with his wife Margaret STRATHERN and son, William Edwin, my grandfather. They lived in the San Francisco Bay area and, perhaps, Napa. Frank, for whom my father is named, is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Rio Vista, California. The BAKERS and STRATHERNS were living near each other in Ramsey County in the 1880 census. William married Hazel Margaret KATHER about 1919 after he was discharged from the Army at the end of WWI. They had 3 sons, Frank Edward, Andrew (later named Robert) Eugene, and Warren Lorain. My dad, Frank was the last to die, in 2011.
